I lost a friend today

Today I lost a friend.

I remember their scratchy voice we used to mimic all the time.

I remember the faces they'd make in pretty much every photo, never able to stop laughing, never able to take anything serious.

I remember countless hours spent talking on Skype when I left Japan and went to college.

I remember missing their friendship.

I remember sending those messages to them a few days ago.

Those are the memories I'm left with, they're not here to make any new ones now.

We'll miss you, sleep well.
